Valued at a market cap of $54.8 billion, NXP Semiconductors N.V. (NXPI) is a leading semiconductor company known for providing high-performance mixed-signal solutions. Based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, the company’s products are used in various applications, including automotive, industrial, mobile, and communication infrastructure. It is scheduled to announce its fiscal Q2 earnings for 2025 after the market closes on Monday, Jul. 21.

Ahead of this event, analysts expect this semiconductor company to report a profit of $2.29 per share, down 18.2% from $2.80 per share in the year-ago quarter. The company has met or exceeded Wall Street’s bottom-line estimates in two of the last four quarters, while missing on two other occasions. In Q1, NXPI’s adjusted EPS of $2.64 outpaced the forecasted figure.

For fiscal 2025, analysts expect NXPI to report a profit of $9.99 per share, down 13.4% from $11.54 per share in fiscal 2024. Nonetheless, its EPS is expected to rebound in fiscal 2026 and grow by 20.3% year-over-year to $12.02.

On Apr. 28, NXPI released its Q1 results, and its shares plunged 6.9% in the following trading session. Although both its revenue of $2.8 billion and adjusted EPS of $2.64 exceeded analyst expectations, the results marked year-over-year declines. Compared to the year-ago quarter, its revenue fell 9.3%, while its adjusted EPS decreased 18.5%, likely contributing to the negative market reaction. Lower revenue across all reportable segments, along with a drop in its adjusted gross and operating margins impacted its performance.

Wall Street analysts are highly optimistic about NXPI’s stock, with a "Strong Buy" rating overall. Among 27 analysts covering the stock, 20 recommend "Strong Buy," two suggest “Moderate Buy,” and five indicate “Hold.” The mean price target for NXPI is $235.59, which indicates a 7.8% potential upside from the current levels.
